After Patrik Laine got traded to the Montreal Canadiens last week, it was just confirmed whether or not Jeremy Swayman would be offer sheeted.

The Montreal Canadiens and Columbus Blue Jackets combined for a trade that sent Patrik Laine and a 2026 2nd-round pick to the Canadiens, in exchange for defenesman Jordan Harris.

Patrik Laine has been involved in multiple rumours ever since announcing that he didn't want to play in Columbus anymore, and the Blue Jackets finally got rid of his $7.3 million cap hit, for a young defenseman set to help them during their rebuild.

By completing this trade it has benefited the Boston Bruins, as the Montreal Canadiens now don't have the cap space to offer sheet, Bruins soon to be starting goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

Now that's not to say that there are not other teams that could offer sheet Jeremy Swayman, but knocking a team off the board is good news for the Boston Bruins.

It has been stated numoures amounts of times over the past week that the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman himself are confident that the two sides will work out a deal soon enough.
