Anaheim Ducks star player Trevor Zegras has been linked to the Boston Bruins for some time now, but the Bruins may look at someone else after he left the game yesterday due to a ugly looking injury.
Zegras looked like he was turning his season around after a slow start this year, but he has gone down with an unfortunate injury at a terrible time for the Anaheim Ducks.
The star forward left their game against the Vegas Golden Knights where they would go on to lose 4-1 with a lower-body injury, and as he was leaving the ice he was not able to put pressure on his leg.
There has since been no update on Zegras' status but head coach Greg Cronin stated that he was going to undergo further testing Thursday.
Zegras' injury looked like he tweaked something in his leg after taking a defensive zone faceoff, he spun and fell awkwardly. Zegras quickly waved to the Ducks bench signalling he needed help to get off the ice.
Zegras has appeared in all 23 games for the Anaheim Ducks this season and has four goals, six assists for 10 points for the Ducks.
It looks like at this point, Trevor Zegras will no longer be the Bruins top trade target, and even if they are going to make a trade, there are better options out there Don Sweeney can make.
