The Minnesota Wild have officially activated former Boston Bruins winger Jakub Lauko off of long-term injury reserve following an announcement, and have also officially assigned Ben Jones and Devin Shore to the American Hockey League.
The 24-year-old former Boston Bruins forward has been out for the past two months with a lower-body injury, which has been believed to be a muscle strain in his groin.
The Czechia forward originally left the Minnesota Wild's lineup in late November, and ended up missing six games before returning. Unfortunately for the ex-Bruins forward, that stint was short-lived as he would skate in just three games before reaggravating his injury, and landing himself back on the injured shelf.
Lauko has not appeared in a game since December 14th when the Minnesota Wild faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers.
In total, Lauko missed 21 games due to this injury. Lauko is just a depth forward for the Wild, so his absence did not make the biggest impact for the Minnesota Wild, but it will be nice for them to get his services back in the lineup.
Lauko has been averaging 10 minutes a game, and has four points, 2 goals, and 2 assists in 24 games played this year.
The Boston Bruins ended up trading Jakub Lauko to the Minnesota Wild in the off-season and in return got Vinni Lettieri who was recently recalled from the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League where he leads the team in points and goals.
Lauko was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2018 NHL Entry Level Draft, where they drafted him with the 77th overall pick in the 3rd round.
Lauko made his NHL debut in the 2022-23 season with the Boston Bruins, and played a total of 83 games with the Boston Bruins organization before being traded to the Minnesota Wild.
