It was just confirmed that the Ottawa Senators are going to be without the services of goaltender Linus Ullmark for awhile.
Sunday morning, the Ottawa Senators confirmed that Linus Ullmark's injury is much more serious then they originally anticipated as they have now announced that Ullmark will be considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury according to the Senators.
Being labled week-to-week is pretty vague as he could still return this week, but it's more likely that he will be missing quite a few games for the Ottawa Senators.
The injury news for the Ottawa Senators does not stop there as they also announced that veteran defeseman Travis Hamonic will also be out with an injury, and he is listed as two-four weeks.
Ullmark's last NHL game with the Ottawa Senators came just before the holiday break, when he started the game on December 22nd against the Edmonton Oilers, but ultimately ended up pulling himself out of the game.
Watching this you couldn't tell that something had happened to him, but Ottawa Senators head coach Travis Green spoke out about it following the game, and kind of downplayed the situation.
Losing Linus Ullmark is going to hurt the Senators, as he has been the only reason they are sitting in a playoff spot at the moment. Ullmark this season has been stellar, in 23 games with the Ottawa Senators the former Boston Bruins goaltender has a12-7-2 record, with a 2.38 goals against average, and a .915 save percentage.
Since Linus Ullmark has been out with an injury, the Ottawa Senators have gone 1-3, fans are definitely hoping that Ullmark returns sooner rather then later as it could make or break whether or not they make the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
