Boston defenseman Jack Ahcan scored his first career goal when the Bruins hosted the Chicago Blackhawks on last season.

It was the eighth game of Ahcan's career and fifth last season, all played with the Bruins. The 24-year-old was filling in on the blue line for a sick Matthew Grzelcyk and he obviously turned that into a memorable night.

Ahcan played a total of 15:51 in the game, fired three shots on net and registered both a hit and a takeaway. But the best part of his night came on a second period power play.

As the tradition wants it, the boys made sure to pick up the game puck from Ahcan's first NHL goal.

While you'd think that the Bruins defenseman would keep the souvenir to himself, he announced post-game that the puck was going to someone special; it's going to mom.

''I think my mom is probably texting me right now waiting to see where I'm going to put it», he laughed. «But she's going to get it, so it'll be kind of cool for her.''

The Minnesota native went on to describe the goal, how his teammates treated him, and being compared to Torey Krug, and more in his post-game press conference.
