Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron is considered one of, if not the best, two-way forwards in the entire NHL.

One statistic that helps the veteran of 1,209 career games continue his dominant two-way game is his ability to be at the top of NHL leader boards in faceoff percentage.

The 2021-22 Top-5 in faceoff percentage: (total faceoffs taken)
Bergeron (BOS) - 62.4% (1,472)
Tavares (TOR) - 60.9% (1,239)
Giroux (FLA) - 60.2% (1,122)
Toews (CHI) - 58.5% (1,177)
Staal (CAR) - 57.3% (1,203)

Bergeron led the NHL last season as well, as he finished with a percentage of 62.2. The most significant factor of his faceoff ability is his consistency. His worst finish in the category was 6th place back in 2018-19, where he finished with 56.6%. The 36-year-old has taken 20,613 faceoffs over his 18-year career and has won 12,108 of them for a career faceoff percentage of 58.7%.

His ability to win faceoffs and keep possession for the Bruins has made experts wonder if Bergeron is the best two-way player to ever play the game. It's another statistic that helps the Bruins captain control the entire game as he does.

Another great two-way season has the captain vowing for his 5th Selke Trophy, his first since 2017.
