The Boston Bruins have officially been eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes in game seven of the first-round of the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs.

The biggest question heading into the offseason for the Bruins is the future of their captain Patrice Bergeron. Who's contract is now up after this season, and he'll be a free agent on July 1st.

The captain was seen giving every teammate a hug as they were leaving the ice at PNC Arena in Raleigh, after their 3-2 loss in game seven.

Patrice Bergeron has been very quiet about contract talks all season long, saying he doesn't want to worry about it until the offseason. Of course, it's still too early to worry about anything for Bergy still. All he had to say about the topic after the game was: «It's too early right now. It's too fresh.»

Bergeron has spent all 18 seasons with the Boston Bruins, including the last since the beginning of the 2021 season. He's officially said in the past that he'd, «Rather retire now then play with a different team.»

Only time will tell but hopefully this wasn't the last time Bruins fans have seen of their captain Patrice Bergeron.
