Boston Bruins Brad Marchand's Makes A Statement On The Possibility of Being Traded
The Boston Bruins may be forced to make a difficult decision, as they remain out of a playoff spot. Could Captain Brad Marchand be trade bait?
The unlikeliest of scenarios is being considered at the moment, as President Cam Neely and GM Don Sweeney gave us an idea of what could happen if they miss the playoffs.
«We have some areas we would like to (improve), but we have to keep an eye (out),» he said. «We've missed Hampus Lindholm all year - at least 40 games - and it's affected our group. But everybody goes through injuries. You gotta battle through it.
«... If we have more injuries or we don't do the job between now and the deadline, we may have to take a different path.»
They could end up retooling the Bruins lineup if they miss the playoffs. As March draws nearer, that seems the route they'll have to go.
Since the Four Nations Face-Off has been on an uptick though, he's pushed aside those trade rumors in his head.

Marchand isn't focused on the noise outside of the Bruins organization. He feels secure with the group, and the leadership.
He's chosen to instead focus on what he can control with Team Canada at the Four Nations Face-Off. The Bruins remain one point out of a Wild-Card spot in the Eastern Conference.
The implications of missing would be horrendous for the team, as the team could trade him, or worse let him walk to free agency in July.
We'll figure out his fate soon enough, as March 7th approaches quickly.
