A recent report ahead of the Boston Bruins final preseason game against the New York Rangers may have confirmed the fate of two fan favourites being cut from the opening night roster.

Entering the game, it seemed like it was going to be Matt Poitras and Johnny Beecher's final chance to impress the coaching staff, and make the NHL roster, but it looks like they aren't getting that chance.
Yesterday, the Bruins made their second round of roster cuts, sending all these players back to Providence:
Patrick Brown, Michael Callahan, Georgii Merkulov, Victor Soderstrom and Riley Tufte on waivers.

Frederic Brunet, Riley Duran, Brett Harrison and Fabian Lysell to report to Providence.
Now the fate of two fan favourites may have been confirmed.

Beecher and Poitras cut from the opening night roster?

Leading up to their 2 p.m. game against the Rangers, the Boston Bruins officially revealed their roster, and both Beecher and Poitras were missing from the lineup.
Roster bubble watch: No Johnny Beecher or Matt Poitras in the lineup for today's preseason finale, but Fraser Minten is in.
Here is the official roster:
The roster for the exhibition finale.
It seems like Fraser Minten has made a good impression and is going to crack the NHL roster out of camp.
With this, it seems like both these players are not going to make the NHL roster.
Do you think there is still a chance for these two fan favourites to make the NHL opening night roster?
