Ex-Bruin Fan Favourite Emerges a Return To Boston At The Deadline
Blues defenseman Torey Krug recently turned down a trade offer that would have sent him to the Philadelphia team.
With his contract carrying a $6.5 million price tag for the next four years, finding a trade partner won't be simple. Still, Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic suggests that there could be a chance for an in-season trade involving the 32-year-old player.
If Krug can regain his status as a reliable power play contributor, it could significantly enhance his appeal to other teams. Additionally, the potential awkwardness stemming from the team's clear attempt to trade him might create a window for a potential move.
In the previous season, Krug secured 19 points during power plays, which accounted for more than half of his total points. However, during his tenure with Boston, he was able to amass around 30 power play points in his final seasons with the team. If he can replicate that level of production, it would undoubtedly bolster his trade value.
