NHL Honors Brad Marchand's Crazy Week

It has been a crazy week for Boston Bruins star forward Brad Marchand.�

The week included a hat trick, three straight games with the winning goal, a fine for embellishment and a controversial play with Anthony Duclair of the Chicago Blackhawks.

The National Hockey League honored Marchand today by naming him the Second Star of the week.� Marchand tied for NHL lead last week with eight points.� Marchand picked up his third career hat trick and fourth career five-point game versus the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. The game also featured his 11th career overtime goal, the most in Bruins franchise history.

Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets was named the First Star of the Week for scoring five goals in three games.�The 19-year-old phenom now has goals in five straight games and an 11-game point streak.�

Third Star of the Week honors went to Evgeni Malkin of the Pittsburgh Penguins for his three goal, eight-point performance in four games.� He had multiple points in three out of the four Penguins games last week.�The only game where he scored his one point was Pittsburgh's lone loss on the week.�
