Day one of 2022 NHL free agency saw a record breaking $926 million worth of money spent on 154 contracts league wide. However, only one team in the entire NHL is yet to make at least one signing. With over 1.1 billion now spent since free agency started on Wednesday, the New York Islanders have spent $0. Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello is a conservative guy but is he being too careful? One important note is that the Islanders have been heavily linked to the biggest name left unsigned in Nazem Kadri. If Lou signed Kadri it would most likely make up for his club's very boring offseason so far.
