As trade rumors swirl, there's a spotlight on Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk as his contract inches closer to expiration.

Grzelcyk, a local Bostonian, has strong ties to the team, having played college hockey at Boston University before being drafted by the Bruins in 2012. His entire NHL journey has unfolded with the Bruins.

Addressing the trade buzz, Grzelcyk admitted to feeling some nerves, a common sentiment for players without no-move clauses during trade season. Despite his love for the Bruins, he knows hockey's business side.

"Every year, no matter what situation you're in unless you have a no-movement clause or anything in your contract it does give you a little bit of anxiety."

"I love being here. I love being a Bruin. You never want that to end. I try not to dwell on it too much for sure. Just worry about your play. But I'd be lying if I said those thoughts don't creep in."

With recent struggles and 7 points in 45 games this season, the Bruins might explore trade avenues before the deadline rather than extending Grzelcyk's contract.
