Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney Reportedly Pushing Hard To Acquire Former 40 Goal Scorer
With the NHL trade deadline quickly approaching, it was just reported that the Boston Bruins Don Sweeney may be making a big push to acquire former 40 goal scorer Brock Boeser.
According to NHL trade rumor, hockey analyst Cam Robinson stated that both the Canucks and Boeser understand what each side wants, and they are two different things.
NHL trade rumor listed a couple of teams that are reportedly pushing to acquire Boeser, and listed the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers as two teams that could acquire him as a rental or long-term.
Boeser is set to be a UFA in the summer, and has been involved in a lot of speculation since July of 2024.
He isn't playing up to what he did during last season, when he scored 40 goals, with 33 assists for 73 points, but he is sitting at 18 goals and 35 points this season. With how the Canucks have struggled this season though, has lead to a lot of trade rumours, similar to the Boston Bruins.
Hockey analyst Cam Robinson stated that the Canucks may keep Boeser as their own rental for their push to the playoffs, but this could be very risky as he could walk in free agency for nothing.
What The Bruins Would Have To Pay To Acquire Boeser
NHL trade rumor revealed that the Bruins may have to offer up a first-round pick and a prospect like Dean Letourneau to acquire Brock Boeser at the March 7th NHL trade deadline.
This is a steep asking price, but if Don Sweeney wants to make the Bruins a better team he is going to have to pay.
Brock Boeser may be a high risk player, but having him on a top line and top power play unit with the Bruins, plus a change of scenery could do really good for him.
