The Boston Bruins got some devastating news as they revealed a star player has landed on long-term injury reserved.

This morning has been a roller coaster for the Boston Bruins, and they got hit with multiple sources of bad news.

The team announced today that both Charlie McAvoy and Mark Kastelic will be placed on Injury Reserved, and will not play tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

It was also confirmed that Hampus Lindholm, who has been skating by himself for a couple of days now, will be placed on Long-Term Injury Reserved.

Many believe that this is just a cap space move as the Bruins had to recall a couple members from the Providence Bruins this morning.

McAvoy to IR, Poitras and Callahan up, Hampus Lindholm to LTIR

Mark Kastelic was injured after receiving a cross-check to the face from Lightning's player Emil Lilleberg during their game on Thursday against the Lightning, and then after fighting Lilleberg, Kastelic smashed his head off of the ice.

Kastelic required assistance from defenseman Parker Wotherspoon, who guided him back to the Bruins bench after he got up wobbly.

There is beliefe that Charlie McAvoy got injured during the Bruins game on Saturday against the Florida Panthers when he took a stick to the throat/chin area during overtime in the Bruins 4-3 win over the Panthers.

Regardless, these are some big losses for the Boston Bruins who are looking to get revenge against the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight after losing 4-1 in their previous meeting less than a week ago.

Do you think Bruins star Hampus Lindholm was placed on Long-Term Injury Reserved due to cap reasons?
