Brad Marchand And Team Canada Received A Special Gift From NHL Legend Wayne Gretzky
It was a big party for Team Canada last night after beating Team USA in the 4 Nations final, and NHL legend Wayne Gretzky had a special gift for all of the players.
After winning the game, Team Canada sang their National anthem again, but this time there were no American fans around to boo the team. Instead, the players were intertwined with one another and watched the flag raise behind the trophy.
The remainder of the crowd, mostly wearing Team Canada jerseys, sang along with the players showing their support after their team won on America's turf.
No one else other then Connor McDavid called game for Team Canada in overtime leading them to a 3-2 victory, and now they will be preparing to appear in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Binnington, who faced a lot of controversy after the round robin games, stood on his head and shut down the USA making some massive saves to keep Canada in the game in overtime.
The other goal scorers for Team Canada were Nathan MacKinnon and Sam Bennett.
Team USA had more high quality scoring chances in overtime, but could not capitalize, leading to McDavid scoring a goal off of a offensive zone faceoff.
After scoring, Team Canada jumped over the boards and celebrated on the ice after beating their biggest rival on enemy soil.
Wayne Gretzky Gives Special Gift To Team Canada Players
The icing on the cake was that Wayne Gretzky made an appearance in the Canadian locker room after the game, and surprised the players with red hats that had 'Be Great' stitched on them, and the team erupted.
This is just the start, the real show is going to be next year when all Nations will face off in the Olympics.
