Everyone knows how many players/goalies change their gear throughout their career let alone a season. However, Bruins Hall-of-Fame goaltender Tuukka Rask never changed his gear... not once.
This is the complete opposite of his goalie counterpart Tim Thomas, who changed his career all the time. "Tim would have like a garage full of pads," said Tuukka Rask during an interview on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast.
Obviously, Tuukka Rask was comfortable in the gear he had, so much so that never changing it was a better option than starting fresh every couple of weeks or months. Tuukka Rask said, "...the equipment guys are like "come on, like, get you some new, you know, chest pads." I'm like... no no no I'm good."
