Sunday witnessed a surprising spectacle in the ECHL, as goaltenders Michael McNiven of the Savannah Ghost Pirates and Cam Johnson of the Florida Everblades engaged in an unexpected brawl with a mere 2.7 seconds left on the clock.

This extraordinary showdown unfolded between McNiven, a former Montreal Canadiens prospect, and Johnson, creating a spirited and somewhat comical affair considering the substantial goaltending equipment hindering their movement. Despite the inherent challenges, both goaltenders exhibited genuine effort in their unlikely tussle.

The officials allowed the peculiar altercation to continue for nearly 30 seconds before Johnson managed to bring McNiven down to the ice, bringing an end to this highly unusual episode in ECHL history.
