A Surprising Announcement Was Issued Regarding Boston Bruins Head Coach Joe Sacco

Today, the Bruins are gearing up to take on the Minnesota Wild, but the Boston Bruins organization took some time out of their day to make a statement regarding interim head coach Joe Sacco.

The Bruins social media team made a post recognizing Joe Sacco today as it is his birthday.

On November 19th, Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins organization decided it was time to part ways with head coach Jim Montgomery, firing him and replacing him with interim head coach Joe Sacco.

Since then, the Bruins have shown flashes of improvements since Joe Sacco took over, but they have still been too inconsistent.

When the Bruins were under Jim Montgomery, they started their season off 8-9-3 before firing him and hiring Joe Sacco.

Since Sacco took over the Boston Bruins head coaching job the Bruins have gone 18-13-3.

This has definitely been an improvement, but still hasn't been good enough to earn a playoff spot.

Currently, the Boston Bruins are sitting 4th in the wildcard race in the Eastern Conference, sitting just one point behind the Detroit Red Wings, and Columbus Blue Jackets, but both teams have games in hand on the Bruins.

The wildcard race is going to come down to the last couple of games of the year, it will be interesting to see if the Bruins will be able to clinch a playoff spot or not.
