TheBoston Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman was recently asked about his opinion of the team post-trade deadline, and the answer was stark, as he felt he awoke from a dream.

The Boston Bruins resurgence after March 7th saw the team blank the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0, with many new faces in the fold.
But what did it take to get that small victory? It involved Don Sweeney selling off a majority of the core fans know and love while recouping assets.
Including a 2nd-round pick for former Bruins Captain Brad Marchand.
«To get the result after everything that happened yesterday, it goes to show what we have in this locker room even with the new faces,» Swayman said after the game, per the team's social media. «They know what they're doing here, putting on the Bruins jersey. That's a huge testament to the guys that were here [before].»

Jeremy Swayman was asked how he felt about the team after the trade deadline.
«I'm not going to lie, when I woke today I almost thought it was a dream,» Bruins forward David Pastrnak said Saturday, per NHL.com. «Yesterday there was so much going on, but this morning the reality really hit.»

The Bruins have failed to make the playoffs in 2025, something that hasn't happened for the team led by GM Don Sweeney since 2016.
It led to a massive sell-off which we saw the Bruins restock the lineup with younger options down the middle, including Casey Mittelstadt, and acquiring wingers like Jakub Lauko, and Marat Khusnutdinov.
A lineup that is stacked to the brim full of bottom-six wingers, while the top-six remains the same core that has failed to produce at a clip that would earn them a spot in the NHL playoffs.
It's been such a fall-off since 2022-2023 since the team that won the President's Trophy has become something else, something new.
But is it any better? That's wholly debatable, as we can relate to Swayman who feels he's woken from a fever dream to find players like Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo, and others gone.
Instead of pilfering Providence in order to buy winning pieces, Don Sweeney has opted to tear down the Bruins.
Now, it's difficult to tell where the Bruins will be in 2025-2026.
