The Boston Bruins traded Brad Marchand in what was a lackluster deal today, and it set the fanbase on fire, now there's called for Don Sweeney's job and who can blame them?

Brad Marchand was traded today by the Boston Bruins for a meager return. The deal sent the former Captain to Florida, a rival in the Atlantic Division for a 2nd round pick in 2027, which could become a 1st-round pick in 2028.
What a swing and a miss for Sweeney.
He could've taken advantage of the Panthers' need for offensive depth, and the kind of talent Marchand adds should come at a premium, even at the age of 36.
Instead, Sweeney is out here accepting meager portions for a premium product.
Scott Laughton yielded a first for the Flyers, and a Hall-Of-Famer pick gets the Bruins a 2nd-rounder. The math here isn't adding up.
We agree with the fans, that the team should've kept Marchand if this was the return after it all.
The mismanagement of the Bruins roster has gone on too far now, considering this is the latest affront to fans everywhere.
If Jeremy Jacobs had any sense he'd fire President Cam Neely and GM Don Sweeney after today's debacle.
But, we know that the Bruins will neither compete for a Stanley Cup and that Don Sweeney isn't capable of dealing with other GMs in the NHL in a way that yields the right assets.
GM Bill Zito absolutely robbed the Bruins and will make them pay at the end of the season for it.
So we reiterate a quote from November:
«Makes you wonder if the Sacco hire came from above,» the scout said. «If Sacco can't turn it around, Sweeney's next in line to be fired. ... Then the new GM can come in and hire his own coach.»

Will Sacco be the next domino to fall before Sweeney even finds himself looking for work elsewhere?
Today marks a monumental loss for the organization, and the culture in Boston, as the last piece to fall from the team's last cup run is gone.
