Charlie McAvoy Makes Heartbreaking Post After The Boston Bruins Traded Brad Marchand

The Boston Bruins made a blockbuster trade today that sent Brad Marchand to their rivals, the Florida Panthers. Marchand's close friend and teammate Charlie Charlie McAvoy released a heartbreaking statement via social media.
Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy have been teammates since the 2017-2018 season.
Their friendship and camaraderie would be forged in fire, as he was lucky enough to join the Bruins when they'd be competitive again.
Now, that friendship will have been tested by distance, and a rivalry that has grown deep in the Atlantic Division.
Marchand will now wear a different crest for the first time prior to joining the Bruins ranks in 2009.
McAvoy would post a picture on Instagram, a heavy, heartfelt message with needed no words.
But you can feel the pain looking at it.
While the Four Nations Face-Off was ongoing, and Marchand was in competitor mode, but would set aside the time to call on his friend who was hospitalized.
«I had no intention of talking to Chuck or Pasta (David Pastrnak) or any of my teammates until this tournament is over,» Marchand said. «But obviously in a situation like that, Chucky is one of my best friends and I care a lot about him, so it's very disappointing to hear that he's going through this.»
A sign of how close the two were together on and off the ice.
Now, Marchand will have a chance to compete for a Stanley Cup during the 2025 playoffs.
A prospect he's had every year since 2017, but with the Florida Panthers being reigning Stanley Cup champions, there's a chance he might lift one again.
But it won't be with Charlie McAvoy, and that is pretty sad.
We all feel the pain of Marchand's absence, and now the vacuum left in his exit is apparent.
