The Boston Bruins' next captain may have just been revealed after a recent report from a report may have confirmed it, following the trade of Brad Marchand on Friday

The Boston Bruins totally turned a page on Friday at the NHL trade deadline, and it's overwhelming.
Thankfully, we covered the several trades here at Bruins Insider.
The Bruins kicked things off a few days early before the deadline, trading forward
Trent Frederic in a 3-team deal.
Fans were caught off guard, as Frederic is a fan favorite many did not imagine that the 27-year old would be moved.
But that was just the start.
In what felt like moments ago, the Bruins named Marchand their captain in their centennial season.
Where he served it as an honor for a little less than two seasons, before departing from the organization.

Bruins have found their organizations 28th captain?

According to reports from Tim Crowley, a Bruins reporter, a defenseman is deemed to don the 'C'.
Defenseman Charlie McAvoy surfaces as the leading candidate for the Bruins' open captaincy, and his resume is far above impressive, have a look:
"McAvoy holds 300 career points for the Bruins with 60 goals and 240 assists. He won an Eastern Conference title with Boston in 2019 and currently plays through his eighth NHL season with the Bruins. His play marks a staple of the recent core at TD Garden and he's capable of leading a new group forward after a trade deadline reset by general manager Don Sweeney."

The next captain will be a special one, following the footsteps of Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron and Big Z, Zdeno Chara.
It may also determine who will remain a Bruin throughout this rebuild.
