In a recent hockey match in Norway on November 30, a startling incident unfolded involving 19-year-old Jonas Nyhus Myhre, a player from a youth team in Lrenskog, Oslo.

In the midst of a scuffle in front of the net with an opponent, Nyhus Myhre was struck by a stray blade that penetrated his clothes, skin, and muscle.

Remarkably, Nyhus Myhre initially underestimated the severity of his injury. Despite bleeding from the chest, he continued skating, only realizing the gravity of the situation when faced with difficulty using his muscles.

Upon reaching the team's bench, he asked teammates to inspect his chest. Recognizing the severity, they promptly escorted him to the dressing room and then to a nearby hospital for a thorough examination.

During a post-game interview, Nyhus Myhre remarked,

"I had so much adrenaline that I didn't feel it for the first few minutes. But after about five minutes, it started hurting a lot, and I couldn't use the chest muscle."

Subsequent medical assessments revealed that the chest muscle was split in half, necessitating stitches for both the skin and muscle. The situation could have been graver if the blade had struck closer to his heart.

"I never saw the wound myself, so I pulled up my jersey and asked some teammates if it was bleeding. They had a shock reaction and immediately called for a doctor," Nyhus Myhre recounted.

Regrettably, Nyhus Myhre is anticipated to be sidelined from the game until at least mid-February, rendering him unable to participate in the upcoming World Hockey Championships.

This incident draws parallels with a tragic event from the prior month when American hockey player Adam Johnson lost his life after a skate blade cut his neck in October.
