With the NHL season suspended because of coronavirus, it opened up the opportunity for the Bruins to make a roster move.
General manager Don Sweeney has signed goalie prospect Jeremy Swayman of the Maine Black Bear's to an entry level contract.
Swayman was drafted in the fourth round by the Bruins in 2017.
The youngster won the Walter Brown Award this year and registered a .939 save percentage along with a 2.07 goals against average and 18-11-5 record for the Black Bears.
The only other goalie prospect the Bruins have signed for next year at the moment is Kyle Keyser.
One of Swayman or Keyser might be needed with Jaroslav Halak set to become UFA.
