The NHL season was officially suspended yesterday and now everything is up in the air.
While the safety of players and fans is the most important, it was a tough blow for the Boston Bruins and their fans as they sit on top of the NHL with 100 points.
One of the Bruins leaders had a message for fans.
"While it's disappointing the season has been paused, it's become apparent that the situation is much larger than sports," said Patrice Bergeron. "In a time like this, it is important we continue to listen to experts whose job it is to maintain the safety and well-being of the population until the issue stabilizes. That said, we hope the situation improves soon and we can resume our pursuit of the Stanley Cup."
The NHL is expected to announce another update today which would include if players are allowed to leave their house, if they can practice and more.
