While the Boston Bruins are trying to land the biggest free agent name on the block, JohnTavares, they let one of their younger players walk.

The Bruins didn't extend Austin Czarnik a qualifying offer on Monday which means the restricted free agent will now become an unrestricted free agent.

Czarnik signed on as an undrafted free agent and the 25 year old has been able to put up 17 points in 59 NHL games, he also had a great season in Providence with 69 points in 64 games which included 25 goals.

WithJake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen and Anders Bjork it looks like general manager Don Sweeney just couldn't see Czarnik jumping any of those guys for a roster spot.

According to Czarnik's agent, Brian Bartlett, he's already heard from two thirds of the league in regards to possibly signing Czarnik.

Do you think the Bruins should have kept the forward around?
