The Boston Bruins were back on the Warrior Ice Arena today as they begin preparation for Tuesday night's game versus the Anaheim Ducks.
Before the team began their workout in the ice, defenseman Charlie McAvoy met with the media for the first time since undergoing a procedure to help with an irregular heartbeat last week.
McAvoy revealed that he had experienced symptoms before, but the episode he had back on November 26 was longer than any of the previous ones. It was shortly after that when he went to team doctor David Finn and trainer Don DelNegro which led to the diagnosis.
"Relief that it was not dangerous to my overall health....we have a strategy to get back up to speed," McAvoy said about when he learned that he had an abnormal heart rhythm. "I have no reason to think I'll come back differently...I'm still the same person. I feel good."
After "a week of nothing," McAvoy jumped on the ice for quick skate before the rest of the team began their practice.
