It's reported that the New Jersey Devils are not only willing but looking to deal their second overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
Their hopes are to speed up the rebuild by landing a proven star in return. The Devils and Boston Bruins were believed to be in talks previously, as the Bs are interested in what they could get with that pick.
The Hockey Writers' reported that New Jersey is looking at David Pastrnak.
It's believed that he may not be keen on signing an extension in Boston after the firing of Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy.
The second overall pick could end up being Shane Wright if the Montreal Canadiens decide to take Juraj Slafkovsky, which some insiders believe could happen.
