When trades happen in pro sports, it's easy for fans to forget the personal side of the business, but Dylan Larkin's reaction to Boston's newest addition showcases just that.
In his first interview since Tyler Bertuzzi was traded to the Bruins, the Red Wings captain got very emotional discussing the departure of his best friend. So much so, that Larkin had to pause his interview as he shed some tears. See below:
''I'm surprised, yeah. The last 24 hours are one of the hardest days of the business side of it.''
Bertuzzi (2013) and Larkin (2014) were drafted one year apart, and spent seven full NHL seasons together in Detroit.
It's times like this that show how pro sports is more than a game, but a business too.
