In the middle of a playoff push it'll have to come through trade and the deadline is less then a month away.
One name that the Bruins have been connected to is Nashville Predators' defenseman Mattias Ekholm.
We've heard that it would cost the Bruins a first round pick along with a prospect and player likely to play now or two first round picks and a prospect.
Unfortunately the Bruins don't have a deep prospect system and it's actually been labelled as one of the worst in the NHL so they'd definitely have to overpay a bit.
According to Fluto Shinzawa ofTheAthletic, this is what a Bruins' package for Ekholm would likely look like.
The B's 2021 first-round pick, winger Jake DeBrusk, center John Beecher and defenseman Urho Vaakanainen.
DeBrusk needs a change of scenery and would help sweeten the offer and also balance out the salary coming in.
Beecher was the B's first round pick at the 2019 draft and registered 8 points in 16 games this past season at the University of Michigan as he fills out his 6'3 210lb frame.
Vaakanainen would give the B's a defenseman going the other way and the B's 2017 first round pick has shown promise registering 2 assists in 8 games so far this season.
Would you make this trade?
