Don't be surprised if Don Sweeney makes at least one more move, as recent reports suggest that the Bruins are looking to add more in terms of depth to the roster.
More specifically, to the bottom six forward group.
Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now recently shared an interesting quote from Cam Neely regarding the team's current mindset leading up to Friday's Trade Deadline:
''I'm still very happy with our group and where we're at. We still have some time to maybe tinker. We'll look at that,'' said Boston Bruins President Cam Neely to NESN prior to Monday night's game in Edmonton. 'It's a lot of gymnastics going on with the cap but we did give ourselves the opportunity to add if we wanted to.''
'Tinker' is the perfect word to describe what Boston has left to do with the roster. Despite a potential record-breaking season, if this Boston team could never have enough depth.
Which Murphy also eluded to in his most recent report:
''As my colleague Joe Haggerty pointed out here last night, if the Bruins can make the cap space work, names like Arizona Coyotes center Nick Bjugstad or Chicago Blackhawks center Max Domi could make sense as depth moves. The aforementioned source above did note to BHN that had heard Bruins general manager would also like to add as much D depth as he can'.'' Domi, 28, will cost the most to acquire, as he's had a strong season in Chicago. He currently has 18 goals and 31 assists through 60 games.
Bjugstad, on the other hand, makes more sense for what the Bruins are looking for. The 6'6'', right-handed centre has 13 goals and 10 assists with the Coyotes this season.
Both Domi and Bjugstad would add some much needed depth scoring. Although Boston's bottom six isn't the worst in the league, you could argue it's the weakest area on the club.
There's no doubt that Sweeney will be as all in as a GM has. He just has to once again get creative with the current cap space.
