According to Daily Face Off's Frank Seravalli, the Boston Bruins will not be signing Pacioretty.
But GM Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs will have the honor of helping to give Pacioretty another fresh start in the NHL.
He will join the Maple Leafs on a PTO, with hopes of earning a contract at the end of training camp. The Maple Leafs need talent to help push them deep into the playoffs, and when healthy Pacioretty could provide the tools.
But the matter of cost is where Brad Treliving could run into issues, as last year he signed a one-year $2 Million AAV, with a $2 Million signing bonus with the Capitals.
The 35-year-old winger played 47 games, scoring 23 points( 4 G, 19 A), and has been injury-ridden, the last few seasons in the NHL. His ACL injury led to him playing on 5 games in Carolina and missed almost half the season in Washington in 2023-2024.
He has played in 16 seasons in the NHL, scoring 668 points( 330 G, 338 A) in 902 regular-season games, and appeared in 78 playoff games split between the Vegas Golden Knights, and Habs scoring 50 points.
