REPORT: Kadri signing may have cost another player millions

A career spent on team friendly deals had finally resulted in Kadri receiving his much deserved big payday. But what this contract also did was reset the market for another big name who is an upcoming free agent.

That would be JT Miller of the Vancouver Canucks.

Earlier reports were that Miller was looking for a similar deal that Johnny Gaudreau signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. That contract was a seven-year deal with a $9.5 million AAV.

Now it appears that teams are looking at Kadri's contract as a direct comparable for Miller.
