The Boston Bruins held an optional skate on Thursday morning as they get ready to play the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 1 of their first round matchup.
Things have changed between the two teams as both have added and subtracted some players from last year's series.
Of course the Leafs added a big one in John Tavares, however one of the Bruins biggest editions for this series was around last year but wasn't able to play due to injury.
Defenseman Brandon Carlo around will give the Bruins a HUGE boost this time around.
As Joe McDonald of The Athletic points out
"He adds an element of size, speed and strength, especially against the speedy Toronto forwards. Carlo's presence on the PK is also a major factor. When he was out last season against the Lightning, it had a huge effect on Boston's chances. No. 25 is a welcome sign for the Bruins."
Carlo will play with Torey Krug on the team's second defensive pairing.
