The Boston Bruins just confirmed the firing of head coach Jim Montgomery.

It was only a matter of time with how the Boston Bruins have been playing this year that a move gets made, and the Bruins just confirmed one.

Scoops: Jim Montgomery out, Joe Sacco to take over.

BREAKING FROM #SCOOPSKEEFE: Jim Montgomery is OUT. Joe Sacco will take over as head coach.

It's been stated multiple times this season that Don Sweeney is looking to make a massive change, and they have officially done that.

The Boston Bruins have confirmed the firing of Jim Montgomery

Despite the rumours earlier, Bruins General Manager just revealed that Jim Montgomery will no longer be the head coach for the Bruins.

Boston Bruins General ManagerDon Sweeney announced today, November 19, that the team has relievedJim Montgomeryof his duties as Head Coach.

Associate Coach Joe Sacco will assume interim head coaching duties.

In my opinion it's sad to see a good head coach get let go from his job, and I don't believe that Montgomery was fully at fault here, but change needed to happen.

Montgomery had great regular season success with the Boston Bruins, but never transitioned it into the playoffs.

Now Joe Sacco will take over for the Boston Bruins for the time being.

Best of luck to Jim Montgomery in his future positions and thank you for everything you brought to the Bruins organization.
