The Boston Bruins might let a prospect walk and re-enter the upcoming NHL draft.

It was reported today that a Boston Bruins goalie prospect might walk from the team, if they can't agree on a contract and he would be eligible to re-enter the NHL Entry Draft.

Boston Bruins reporter Mark Divver reported that Bruins goaltending prospect Reid Dyck could find himself entering the NHL draft again if him and the Bruins can't agree on a contract by June 1st.

The Boston Bruins drafted Dyck in 2022 at 183rd overall, but has spent all of his time in the Western Hockey League with the Swift Current Broncos. During his time there Dyck has been good putting up a record of 25-7-2, some pretty good numbers as well with a 2.70 GAA and a .911 SV%.

"Bruins 2022 sixth round pick Reid Dyck can re-enter NHL Draft if not signed by June 1. He went 25-7-2 with .911 save percentage for WHL's Swift Current in '23-24" Divver said.

Dyck was signed to a ATO with the Providence Bruins after his season ended with the Broncos, but didn't appear in any games with the team.

With Linus Ullmark possibly leaving in the off-season, it seems like Brandon Bussi will be the backup to Jeremy Swayman, that doesn't leave the Bruins with much decision for goaltending in their affiliate.

The Bruins have until Saturday to agree with a contract with Dyck or else he could be walking away from the team.
