Boston Bruins' Prospect Wins Bronze At IIHF World Championship

Dans Locmelis who is a Boston Bruin Prospect, played for his country in the 2023 IIHF World Championship, and even came away with some hardware.

On Saturday, the 6'0 170 lb forward had a key goal for Latvia in the Semi-Finals against Canada.

That goal opened up the scoring in the game, which Latvia ran with. Unfortunately, Canada would crawl back as top 2023 NHL Draft prospect Adam Fantilli netted the game-winner in the third period as Canada tamed the underdogs in a 4-2 victory.

Despite the loss, Latvia was still heading to a medal game. Playing for Bronze, against the heavy favorite Team USA.
Latvia defenseman Kristian Rubins scored just 1:22 into overtime to lead Latvia to a 4-3 victory over the United States and earn a bronze medal at the ice hockey world championship Sunday. It's the first top-three finish for Latvia at the tournament. Its previous best was a seventh place it managed three times.

As for the Bruins prospect, he had some key points. In 9 games Dans Locmelis scored 2 goals with 1 assist earning 3 points and will be heading home with a bronze medal around his neck.
