On Monday afternoon, the Boston Bruins made trades with the Chicago Blackhawks and later the New Jersey Devils.

General Manager Don Sweeney announced on Monday, June 26, that the Bruins have acquired defensemen Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forwards Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno. Additionally the Bruins have moved forward Shane Bowers for defenseman Reilly Walsh.
These moves helped move some of the Boston Bruins struggling cap space, despite having to give up some fan favourites names. With that in mind, these moves may help the Bruins to try and keep Tyler Bertuzzi with more money now in the tank.
The Bruins have added three defensemen through these 2 deals, giving up 3 forwards in order to due so.

Meet The Crew:

Regula, who came from the Blackhawks, is 22-years-old, playing in 108 career games for the Rockford IceHogs, racking up 12 goals and 39 assists for 51 points in three seasons. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound defenseman has some NHL experience under his belt despite it being a small sample size, playing in 22 career NHL games with Chicago. He was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the third round (67th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
Mitchell, who was also acquired from the Blackhawks, is 24 and has played in 82 career NHL games for Chicago. Scoring four goals and twelve assists for a total of sixteen points through three seasons. The 5-foot-11, 173-pound blue liner has played in 67 career AHL games for the IceHogs, scoring 13 goals and 29 assists for 42 points through another three seasons. He was drafted by Chicago in the second round (26th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Walsh added from the Devils, is 24-year-old, appearing in 174 career games for the Utica Comets in the AHL, recording 23 goals with 76 assists for 99 points in three seasons. The 6-foot, 185-pound has been in the New Jersey Devils system since draft day — being drafted in the third round (81st overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
