While on a break in Washington, D.C. following a road trip split against the Panthers and Lightning, the Boston Bruins received good news.

Their postseason berth was secured as the Detroit Red Wings fell to the Carolina Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Flyers were defeated by the Montreal Canadiens.

Amid discussions about prioritizing rest, Brad Marchand emphasized the importance of endurance, declaring that players should handle back-to-back games.

«If you can't play back-to-backs, then you shouldn't be in the league,» said Marchand. «You should be the best-conditioned athletes in the world.»

Coach Montgomery echoed the sentiment, focusing on playoff preparation and positioning.

«For us it's more about battling for positioning right now and getting into the playoffs playing the right way,»
said Montgomery.
