After an unfortunate ending to the 2022-23 season, the Bruins are in the brawl to make a statement and battle for the Stanley Cup again this year. However, continuing to be competitive means that their prospect pool will suffer, not being able to acquire high draft picks.

There are a few bright spots in the Bruins system, though. One of them being Johnny Beecher, who is pushing for a roster spot as a centerman.

Two night against the New York Rangers, Beecher centered in top line minutes, playing a big part in the Bruins putting up a three spot on the Rangers. The 22-year-old took most the faceoffs last night, and despite the small sample size, he was stellar. Quickly being compared to retired hall-of-fame Bruin Patrice Bergeron.

InStat cast showed that Johnny Beecher had a 64% faceoff win rate in the game against the Rangers. In the defensive zone (67%), the offensive zone (50%), and the neutral zone (67%).

That 64% win rate ranks among some of Patrice Bergeron's best years at the faceoff dot.

Near the end of his career, Bergeron was nothing but consistent, despite his age. Having over a 60% win rate in three consecutive seasons.

If Beecher can continue this throughout the preseason and into this regular season with Providence, fans could see him in the NHL soon.
