Bruins Sign Former Fan Favourite To A PTO
In a recent update on September 5, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney revealed that the team has officially signed forward Danton Heinen to a professional tryout agreement.
Having begun his career with the Bruins, Heinen, now 28 years old, made his mark by contributing 34 goals and 69 assists across 220 games with the team. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 188 pounds, the forward achieved a career-best 47 points during his rookie season in 2017-18.
After his tenure with Boston, Heinen spent a portion of the 2019-20 season and the entire 2020-21 campaign with the Anaheim Ducks. He then joined the Pittsburgh Penguins for the past two seasons. With a collective experience of 413 NHL games, Heinen has achieved a notable record of 70 goals and 106 assists, totaling 176 points.
A native of Langley, British Columbia, Heinen was initially chosen by Boston as the 116th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
