The Boston Bruins are trade partners and did a huge deal over the summer that sent Linus Ullmark to the nation's Capital city. Now, could the Bruins do the Senators another solid, sending Fabian Lysell to Ottawa?

Fabian Lysell was drafted 21st overall in the 1st round of the 2021 NHL Draft. Since then he's not been able to crack the Bruins lineup, despite their desperate need for scoring help.

He's played 141 games in the AHL and has put up impressive numbers scoring 101 points ( 35 G, 66 A) with the P-Bruins.

Lysell is one Bruins prospect who could find more playing time on a rebuilding team. That team could be the Ottawa Senators.

He's familiar with playing with grittier players in a sheltered role and has produced some great statistics during his only NHL game.

On the same line as Justin Brazeau and Trent Frederic, he'd play 11:05 minutes with a 5.7 gf/60.

In his only NHL game, he played 11.5 minutes mostly alongside Justin Brazeau and Trent Frederic, two players who play a physical, gritty, Senators-style game, and recorded a surprisingly high 5.7 goals-for-per 60 minutes (GF/60) at even strength.

Lysell could be an impact player for the Ottawa Senators' bottom-six, which features players like Adam Gaudette, and Matthew Highmore who don't produce at the same level.

Only two players have a higher average than that this season, while only 10 players across the NHL have hit 5.0 or more GF/60. Add in that he's still in the second year of his entry-level deal and Lysell could be an excellent value addition to the Senators' bottom six.

The P-Bruins forward is in year-two of his three-year entry-level contract which pays him $863K and expires in 2026.

He'll be a pending RFA in 2026, to which the Senators could decide to qualify him or trade him depending on how he plays.

Best of all, since his contract is controlled, the Bruins could fetch a decent return for the former 1st overall pick.

But for now, the Bruins have chosen to let him languish in Providence, while they ponder a retool with the NHL squad.
