Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has made a big and surprising change following season struggles this year.

It was just reported that Charlie McAvoy has officially made a major change after having a down year, and hopefully it can help him return back to form.

Although it has nothing to do with the Boston Bruins, and has to do with the upcoming Four Nations Tournament.

Chris Johnston just revealed all the sweater numbers the NHL players will be wearing at the Four Nations Tournament that is set to take place in both Boston and Montreal, and Charlie McAvoy is the only player that is making a change.

Brett Howard revealed that instead of Charlie McAvoy wearing his normal 73 number, he is going to be changing it to 25.

This is the number that Charlie McAvoy wore whenever he played for Team USA before.

McAvoy wearing #25, everyone else is wearing their normal number.

Hopefully this tournament and the jersey number change can help Charlie McAvoy return back to form for the rest of the year.

Charlie McAvoy is having a really down year offensively for the Boston Bruins this year, and a lot of that could have to due with the fact he's been dealing with a lingering injury, and that the Bruins have just been bad in general, but this two week break should do McAvoy good.

In 45 games Charlie McAvoy has just 5 goals, 15 assists for 20 points. This is a major decrease from what he had just last year when he scored 12 goals, had 35 assists for 47 points in 74 games.

This upcoming two week break hopefully doesn't just do good for Charlie McAvoy, but the entire Boston Bruins team as well.
