On January 29th, late at night, a tragic accident occurred when a plane collided with a military helicopter in Washington, DC, approaching the Ronald Reagan National Airport.

The TD Garden and Boston Bruins have released a statement on the matter, sending their condolences and mourning their deaths, including thoughts to the Skating Club of Boston community to those who lost someone they knew.

A statement from TD Garden and the Boston Bruins.

Unfortunately with the loss, some members from the USA and Russia figure skating teams were aboard the plane at the time of the crash.

Investigators are still doing their jobs, and are trying to figure out exactly what happened and why they ended up colliding and we'll await the news.

It's a nice gesture by the Boston Bruins and TD Garden to send out their condolences considering all their popularity and shedding some light on a horrible event.

The TD Garden hosts all the Boston Celtics home games and holds many concerts as well, and has a lot of popularity as it's the first thing you see when you enter the city.

And the Boston Bruins are the Boston Bruins, one of the most valued franchises in the NHL and a part of the Original Six.

Before the Bruins game today against the Winnipeg Jets, Boston held a moment of silence, another amazing gesture by the organization.

Prior to puck drop tonight, the @NHLBruins held a moment of silence to honor the lives lost in last night's tragedy at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Our thoughts are with all those affected ♥️

May all the people involved in the crash and have perished rest in peace.
