In Boston, Nick Goss of NBC Sports Boston suggests that the Bruins should seriously consider keeping winger Danton Heinen, who is currently on a professional tryout (PTO) with the team.
Given the offensive firepower the Bruins lost during the offseason, having an additional depth player with an offensive mindset could be beneficial. While it's speculative at this point, if the Bruins decide to offer Heinen a contract, it would likely be close to the league minimum of $775,000.
However, before making any contract offers, the team would need to create some cap space. There are no guarantees that Heinen will secure a spot on the Opening Night roster. To do so, he'll need to finish camp and the preseason strongly.
Nevertheless, his versatility, ability to play various forward positions, contribute on special teams, and his wealth of experience make him a valuable asset that the Bruins should seriously consider retaining.
