In an unexpected twist, the Boston Bruins have made a surprising roster move by assigning defenseman Parker Wotherspoon to the Providence Bruins, as announced by General Manager Don Sweeney on November 10.

Wotherspoon, 26, has seen action in three games with Boston during the current season, contributing one assist to the team's efforts. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-1 and weighing 195 pounds, the defenseman has accumulated valuable experience in his 15 career NHL games split between the Bruins and the New York Islanders, registering two assists.

The Surrey, British Columbia native brings a robust history to the ice, having participated in 299 career AHL games with the Providence Bruins and the Bridgeport Sound. Throughout his AHL journey, Wotherspoon showcased his skills with 22 goals and 87 assists, accumulating a noteworthy 109 points.

Originally selected by the New York Islanders in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Wotherspoon's journey has encompassed both NHL and AHL platforms, making him a versatile asset for the Bruins organization.
