Don Sweeney Officially Completes A Surprise Transaction
In a recent announcement on December 23, Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney revealed a strategic move, recalling defenseman Ian Mitchell from Providence on an emergency basis.
Mitchell, at 24, has already contributed to Boston's season, featuring in 12 games and securing two assists. The 6-foot, 192-pound defenseman has showcased versatility, adding one assist in four games with Providence this season.
Mitchell's overall NHL career includes 94 games split between Boston and Chicago, accumulating four goals and 14 assists for a total of 18 points. Hailing from St. Albert, Alberta, Mitchell was a 2017 second-round pick by Chicago in the NHL Entry Draft.
