Defenseman Torey Krug injured his right foot while practicing for the upcoming 2023–24 season, according to St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong on Tuesday. Prior to the start of the NHL regular season, Krug will undergo another evaluation on October 1.
Krug will begin his fourth season with the St. Louis Blues after all the trade talks and the decision to not waive his NTC. In 701 career NHL regular-season games with the Blues, Krug collected 444 points (85 goals, 359 assists), a plus-31 rating.
Since joining the St. Louis Blues, Krug has already missed a significant amount of time due to injuries. Over the past two seasons, he only participated in 64 and 63 games, respectively, due to upper- and lower-body injuries as well as COVID-19.
