A major development has surfaced that reveals Jeremy Swayman's time with the Boston Bruins is coming to an end.

The Bruins have been privileged these past couple of seasons with their goaltending duo, having Linus Ullmark, and Jeremy Swayman splitting games all season long.

But now the starting role will belong to Jeremy Swayman, after the Bruins traded Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators last month, which saw a return of Mark Kastelic, Joonas Korpisalo and the 25th overall pick in the first-round.

Most fans knew this move was coming, but what they didn't see coming is the Bruins may not have enough cap space to sign Jeremy Swayman who is currently and unrestricted free agent.

«DuPont suggests that while the Boston Bruins have $8.6 million in cap space, they still may have to make a trade to free up a bit more room in order to sign goaltender Jeremy Swayman.

"His next contract, depending on term, is expected to come in north of $9M AAV.»

The Bruins decided to take two big swings in free agency signing Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov which took up most of their cap space.

Now they face a problem where they might not have enough cap to sign their starting goaltender.

The Bruins have until December 1st to reach an agreement with Jeremy Swayman, but a deal being done before the start of the season would be ideal for the team.
